Children in year 6 have enjoyed a Victorian workshop where they looked at what life was like for a child, working conditions, they studied a selection of artefacts associated with the Industrial Revolution and they even made Victorian toilet paper!
Year 6 had a visit from the Fire Service where they learned all about road safety.
Children in year 6 have practised plotting coordinates this week. They then used metallic thread to complete their designs.
Children in year 6 have created tiger sketches by using a view finder and sketching pencils. They then added thread on to the design by using a back stitch.
Year 6 have been looking at tigers as part of their curriculum work this half term and they recently held a fundraising day to adopt a tiger.
The boys in year 6 have enjoyed a singing workshop this half term where they have looked at a variety of singing techniques and thought about the lyrics within songs.
Year 6 participated in a First Aid session this week where they looked at a variety of scenarios.
Year 6 have enjoyed their India Day where they have had the opportunity to have a henna design on their hand and sample some Indian foods. They have also completed a rangoli pattern and learned some Indian dance moves.
Year 6 have used their knowledge of the properties of 3D nets and shapes to recreate the Taj Mahal

Year 6 have been busy designing and creating their Remembrance artwork around the theme ‘Blessed Are The Peacemakers’. This art work is to be displayed, along with art work from all the other year groups, at Buckshaw Village Community Centre.
Year 6 have just enjoyed their Camp Night experience! They spent the day at Rock and River completing a variety of outdoor activities and they camped out at school over night. They also completed several activities in the evening, including toasting marshmallows around a camp fire!
