On Wednesday 7th March, Year 3 will be going to St George’s Hall, Blackburn to take part in the Blackburn Sing Together project. The children have been working hard on lots of songs since September and are all very excited about taking part. More information will be coming home in the next few weeks and a letter explaining where to get tickets will come through the app.
Below are two links to a dropbox folder that has the words and copies of the music that your children could use to practise the songs. Any help to make sure your child knows the words would be greatly appreciated.
Children can choose 4 activities from the topic grid to complete over the term.
Children will have a week to complete a task unless otherwise indicated. They can place work in their purple folders and bring it into school when it is completed. Please try to ensure all work is named. Children may wish to use computing to complete tasks and can forward them to our class email.
Year 3 will also use www.frogplay.net for homework activities
Your child will be encouraged to read a breadth of fiction and non-fiction books. They will have the opportunity to be part of the school ‘Reading Challenge’ whereby they can choose a book from the school library each week. In addition to this, they can choose a book from the junior library as well. Reading homework tasks will relate to a book provided by the teacher. We would encourage parents to make a comment in relation to tasks carried out each week by writing in the green reading booklets. This will also inform you of guided reading sessions conducted with the teacher or teaching assistant in class. This should be taken home every night and brought back to school the next morning along with their reading books.
